Com origens quinhentistas é o único templo com três naves no concelho de Ovar e o mais antigo, seguindo uma tipologia medieval. Pertenceu ao Cabide da Sé do Porto, o que justifica a interferência de artistas portuenses na elaboração do património artístico. No seu interior existem sete retábulos datáveis entre o século XVII e o século XX, destacando-se os dois colaterais de origens maneiristas e o imponente retábulo-mor de estilo rococó.

OVAR MOTHER CHURCH
With origins in the sixteenth century, this Church is the oldest and the only one with three naves in the county of Ova, in accordance with medieval style. The church belonged to the Oporto Cathedral Chapter, which explains the participation of artists from Oporto in its development. There are seven altarpieces in the Church, dating to the seventeenth and twentieth centuries. The two side altarpieces are of Mannerist origins and the majestic main altarpiece in the Rococo style is noteworthy.
