Em Ovar, os azulejos são um bem patrimonial e um elemento diferenciador que marca a imagem e a história da cidade. A expressão OVAR - CIDADE MUSEU VIVO DO AZULEJO, resulta da quantidade e diversidade de fachadas azulejadas e ornamentos datados do século XIX/ XX. Para salvaguardar, valorizar e preservar o património cerâmico deste concelho, é criado, em 2000, o Atelier de Conservação e Restauro do Azulejo (ACRA) da Câmara Municipal de Ovar.
RUA DO AZULEJO / Um projeto inovador que, através da criação de tapetes azulejares, reinterpreta o azulejo tradicional de forma lúdica e contemporânea criando um percurso pelas principais fachadas azulejares do centro da cidade.
PERCURSO DA RUA DO AZULEJO E EXPERIÊNCIA DE PINTURA / Visita Guiada com passagem pelos pontos mais emblemáticos da cidade de Ovar. O percurso culmina com uma oficina de pintura em azulejo recorrendo à técnica da estampilhagem.
JOGO VAI PASSEAR / Esta atividade alia a vertente turística e cultural ao lazer e ao entretenimento. Ao comprar um azulejo, o visitante não está apenas a adquirir um souvenir mas também uma proposta de descoberta pela cidade. Sabendo que um azulejo quando repetido cria um padrão, o participante é convidado a descobrir o azulejo que adquiriu numa das fachadas da cidade de Ovar através de um mapa que identifica a área de jogo.
MAIO DO AZULEJO / O município de Ovar dedica o mês de maio a este património, desenvolvendo uma programação variada e direcionada para diferentes públicos, mas utilizando sempre como elemento agregador “o património azulejar”. Visitas guiadas, exposições, concertos, debates, oficinas e atividades de educação patrimonial são algumas das propostas apresentadas nas edições já realizadas.
TILES
In Ovar, tiles are a heritage asset and a differentiating element which marks the image and the history of the town. The expression OVAR – TILE LIVING MUSEUM TOWN, was born of the quantity and diversity of tile façades and ornaments dating back to the 19th and 20th century. To safeguard, enhance and preserve the ceramic heritage of this municipality, it was created, in the year 2000, the Atelier for the Conservation and Restoration of Tiles (Atelier de Conservação e Restauro do Azulejo – ACRA) of the Town Council of Ovar.
TILE STREET (RUA DO AZULEJO) / An innovative project which, through the creation of tile “carpets”, reinterprets traditional tiles in a recreational and contemporary way, creating a route along the main tile façades of the town centre.
TILE STREET ROUTE AND PAINTING EXPERIENCE / Guided tour along the landmarks of the town of Ovar. The tour culminates with a tile painting workshop based on the stencil technique.
GAME “GO FOR A WALK!” (“VAI PASSEAR!”) / This activity combines the tourist and cultural aspect with leisure and entertainment. By buying a tile, the visitor acquires not only a souvenir but also a suggestion of discovery throughout the town. Knowing that a tile, when it is repeated, creates a pattern, the participant is invited to find the tile he has acquired on one of the façades of the town of Ovar, by using a map showing the game area.
MAY OF TILES (MAIO DO AZULEJO) / The municipality of Ovar dedicates the month of May to the tile heritage, developing a varied program aimed at different publics, but always using this heritage as an aggregating element. Guided tours, exhibitions, concerts, debates, workshops and heritage education activities were some of the suggestions presented in previously held editions.
